Stolen! – an urban night poem

In the middle of the night, I woke from sleep profound,
A blaring car alarm pierced through the night,
Its echoes ricocheted off brick and ground,
A sleepless vigil ‘neath the pale moonlight.

City’s heart, it beats with fright,
Haunting sounds that steal the night,
Silent fears, a restless plight,
In the shadows, darkness bites.

Echoes of a ghostly wail,
Whispers in the darkness trail,
Fear and dread, a haunting tale,
Sleepless terror reigns.

Shadows flickered, windows framed in fright,
Curtains shivered in a phantom breeze,
Streetlights cast long fingers in the night,
An urban symphony hangs in the trees.

The alarm would cease, then blare anew,
A jarring dance of sound, relentless fight,
As if some phantom hand its fury drew,
To rob the city of its peaceful night.

City’s heart, it beats with fright,
Haunting sounds that steal the night,
Silent fears, a restless plight,
In the shadows, darkness bites.

In the darkness, shapes seemed to crawl and creep,
Paranoia’s grip took hold so tight,
Each silence filled with fears that pricked so deep,
A nightmare’s echo in the absence of light.

Tossing, turning, minds afire with woe,
Counting moments till the calm’s return,
Praying for the dawn’s first gentle glow,
To soothe the city’s restless, weary burn.

City’s heart, it beats with fright,
Haunting sounds that steal the night,
Silent fears, a restless plight,
In the shadows, darkness bites.

Silent screams and shadows loom,
Midnight’s grip, a waking tomb,
Dread and fear in every room,
Nightmare’s echo stays.

In the middle of the night, the air felt thick,
A chill that seeped through walls and whispered dread,
The smell of concrete and cold metal slick,
As sleepless souls lay tangled in their bed.

The city’s heartbeats echoed through the streets,
A distant hum of life beneath the blare,
Each pulse of silence matched my racing beats,
In shadows’ dance, I felt a ghostly stare.

City’s heart, it beats with fright,
Haunting sounds that steal the night,
Silent fears, a restless plight,
In the shadows, darkness bites.

Haunted by the night’s embrace,
Phantom whispers touch my face,
Fear and darkness interlace,
Endless night’s domain.
