Ode to the Game Day Throne
Where sports and solace blend: a tribute to the game's most unexpected yet riveting sideline view...
A Brief Intro
This Ode offers a whimsical twist on a familiar yet oft-overlooked setting, born from a writing prompt I crafted and presented on my X account. The inspiration is drawn from a peculiar photograph in my collection (snapped in the midst of a lively sports bar).
Amidst the lighthearted lines of the Ode lies a celebration of camaraderie and the unique ways we engage with our passions, sparked by the humor and humanity evident in the snapshot.

Oh, hallowed ground with porcelain white,
Where gents convene and share their plight.
A sanctuary, bold and pure,
Where cheers and streams may both occur.
Upon the wall, a screen so wide,
Shows scores and plays with team-based pride.
No missed goal, no foul unseen,
For nature's call shan't be unclean.
Two thrones side by side, comrades in arms,
A brotherhood where nothing harms.
No judgement here, just the game’s roar,
And the tacit rule: eyes to the fore.
This chamber grand, with tiles so sleek,
Holds stories that these walls could speak.
Of wins and losses, fans elate,
While standing guard at the ceramic gate.
Relief and sports, a duo divine,
A dance as old as father time.
Where one can ponder life's great queries,
In the temple of the sportive fairies.
For in this den, the game’s not missed,
Even while you're... well, you get the gist.
A marvel of the modern age,
This stadium adjunct takes center stage.
So here's to you, oh Game Day Throne,
With a chuckle, a zip, and perhaps a groan.
You stand as proof in this grand land,
That for love of the game, we'll take a stand.
